The UNIBLOK system (UBK series) is a cast monolithic section made of high-quality elastomer (neoprene) reinforced with steel plates. A specific size of UNIBLOCK is selected depending on the movements predicted during the structure operation and the characteristics of the structure. The structure is a cast reinforced section made of neoprene, various sizes are available (Table 1). UNIBLOCK units are easy and quick to mount. No embedded parts are used, as the system can clean itself. The structures are mounted after the asphalt-concrete surfacing has been laid. In case of repair of the asphalt-concrete surfacing, the expansion joint can be dismantled and 'fitted' to the level of the new surfacing. This structure is one of the most reliable as of today. Over 200,000 meters of these expansion joints are used worldwide. Of which more than 2,000 meters are used in Russia. |
